SEPTEMBER 1: Workers Defense Rally for Worker Protections

 

Austin — The Workers Defense Project will be holding a rally for worker protections outside City Hall on September 1st, just X days before Labor Day. The City of Austin will be voting on including worker protections onto the city’s fast track permit review. Developers are seeking to obtain permits within days instead of months to start building faster, but Austin Interfaith, Workers Defense, the Central Texas Building Trade Unions, Liberal Austin Democrats, the Central Austin Democrats, developers, honest contractors, and working men and women  are asking the City of Austin to ensure workers receive commonsense protections in the process.
