Over 100 People Join Protest at Holiday Inn
Around 100 workers and community supporters braved the heat last Thursday afternoon in protest over the $10,000 in unpaid wages owed to a dozen construction workers who worked at the Holiday Inn Midtown in February of this year. After months of failed negotiations with contractors and Holiday Inn representatives WDP members called on the community to support them recover their hard earned wages.
Attendees heard from workers, faith leaders, and the newly formed WDP Band, all echoing the same message: Holiday Inn should step up and ensure that these workers are paid for their honest work. However, when a delegation entered the hotel to speak with the general manager, they received the same old message: “No comment; It’s out of our hands.”
So we’re calling on you to ask that Holiday Inn do the right thing!

I just want to ask that Holiday Inn work with Workers Defense Project to ensure prompt payment to these workers who are legally owed for their work.
